This Privacy Policy explains how SpendingError processes personal data. We operate out of Germany (EU) and follow GDPR standards regardless of visitor location.

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. Server logs include standard data (IP address, timestamp, browser, referrer) for a maximum of 14 days for security and troubleshooting purposes.

We plan to use Umami Cloud Analytics, a privacy-first, GDPR-compliant analytics tool. Umami does not set cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not collect personal data.

6. Newsletter (Kit / ConvertKit)

We use Kit LLC (formerly ConvertKit, 1 S Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105, USA) to operate our newsletter. When you subscribe through the form on our homepage, Kit processes the following data on our behalf:

Legal basis: Your explicit consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, given by submitting the signup form and confirming via the Double Opt-In email. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing info@spendingerror.com.

Double Opt-In: After submitting your email, you receive a confirmation email. Your address is only added to the active list after you click the confirmation link. Unconfirmed addresses are deleted after 30 days.

Transfer to the USA: Kit is a US-based processor. Transfer is safeguarded by EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Kit's participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is in place.

Retention: Your email remains stored until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribe, your address is kept on a suppression list (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to prevent accidental re-subscription.
